"Ghost Knight" by Cornelia Funke

Last year I had the great honor to illustrate Cornelia Funke's fantastic new middle grade book "Ghost Knight", which is now in stores.

The story is full of intriguing details of medieval history and century-old legends pulled into the present by a fantastic and thrilling ghost story surrounding the main character Jon and his friend Ella. This mix of real locations and historic persona combined with fantasy made it a really interesting project to work on.

Since the story is set in real locations in and around Salisbury, England, I had the opportunity to visit and research the places where the story unfolds.  This was a real treat, Salisbury is a beautiful city, it was so much fun to see Stonehenge, Lacock and the Salisbury cathedral and imagine Jon and Ella there!
