Illustration Friday - Monsters

I did these etchings for a show last fall. Insects do look like monsters, especially the tiny ones when you look at them under a microscope.

In the middle of the 16th century the Count of Beyreuth accepted two unicorn horns as payment of debts from emperor Karl V.


Since the opening at Nucleus was last night I can post the full images now. Here is the first one:

In 1711 a narwhale swam up the Elbe river all the way to Hamburg.

Illustration Friday - Insects

I never drew on photography before this piece. It was really interesting to work with a photographer. The picture is by Jessica Haye.
